Pat's Knit Kitchen Fingertip Towel

In this pattern the rows can be varied, as you like
Bernet cotton, 4 Ply worsted
Needles: 5mm. / #6 Can. / #8 US.
CAST on 64 Stitches
Row 1-6 --------------------------- Knit a few rows
Row 7,9,11,13 -------------------- Knit
Row 8,10,12,14------------------- Pearl
Row 15 – 25---------------------- Knit
Row 26,28,30,32, 34,36,38 ----- Knit
Row 27,29.31,33,35,37,39 ----- Pearl
Row 40-50 -------------------------Knit
Row 51,53,55,57,59,61,63 ------Knit
Row 52,54,56,58,60,62,64 ------Pearl
Continue this pattern until the towel reaches 8 to10in. (The length you like)
To Decrease #1
Knit 2 stitches together across the wide
Pearl back
Continue decrease until you have about 12 - 16 stitches remaining
Knit a tab to the length you want (2-3 ins.) SEE SKETCH
By knitting two stitches together, decrease the width of tab to about 1/2
Continue knitting a tab, along this one edge of the tab, for about 3 INS.
Bind off
Loop this half tab around to attach to the full size tab by stitching together.
This makes a nice loop to fit a doorknob on your cabinet
OR TO DECREASE #2
Row 65: Decrease row Knit 2tog across (32 sts.)
Row 66: Knit across
Row 67: Repeat Row 65:(16 sts.)
Row 68-94: Knit
Row 95: K1, k2tog, k5, yo, knit across. (Yo makes buttonhole)
Row 96-97: Knit
Row 98: K2tog, k11, k2tog.
Row 99: Knit across.
Row 100: K2tog, k9, k2tog.
Row 101: Knit across.
Row 102: k2tog, k2, k2tog, k3, k2tog.
Row 103: K2tog across
Bind off
With the yarn, sew fancy button on centre of row 65. weave in ends
